We accept children from 4 months in our baby room up to 12 years in our Afterschool club. We operate a stimulating, enjoyable learning experience with a jam-packed themed curriculum for children of all ages implementing Aistear in our learning.

facebook.comMontessori made an indoor snowman after storm emma. Our own Emma got the job of putting on the snowmans scarf,we also spoke about springtime and planted watercress seeds. The children are really experiencing all the seasons at the moment.
For the health and safety of all children,staff and parents The Crescent Academy will remain closed until Monday 5th March due to red alert status and upcoming bad weather conditions. We will keep parents updated if there is any changes. Thank you.
The montessori childrenhave been learning all about daytime and nighttime and nocturnal animals. We made a picture showing which animals are awake during day and which animals are awake at night. We also sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for our nighttime song and Mr Golden Sun for our daytime song.
The toddller room were very busy last week blowing paint through straws and making pretty patterns and also decorating pancakes to enjoy.
The preschoolers are kept very active outside with Jade playing with the balls. Jade is playing the colour game and asking them to pick a particular colour ball to put in the bag. They are very clever and choose the correct colours. Well done!
This week the montesori children spoke about opposites. Seth and Jamie found opposite sized teddy bears - big and small, well done guys.
Elaine and Deirdre discussed hand washing with the children as part of our Start Smart programme.. They carried out an exercise in circle time where they used talc powder in place of germs and demomstrated to the children how easy it is to spread germs. They also showed all the boys and girls the best way to sneeze so we don't spread germs to each other. They also chatted about the various times we need to wash our hands the children were very interested to learn they should wash their hands after petting animals.!
The wobblers and toddlers are having great fun exploring sponge painting and slime. They enjoyed getting their hands wet and sticky and used a variety of colours. They also made pretty butterflies to hang on the wall.
Jade has been teaching the preschoolers all about the ocean and all the animals that live in water. The children made lots of colourful fish, crabs and dolphins and had a lovely story about the sea. They played with the animals in the water and really enjoyed this.
Welcome back to all the boys and girls for a new year filled with fun and learning. We had a very busy and fun filled year last year last year here's to the next one been just as great. We would like to wish all our parents, carers, staff and children a happy new year. Heres some of our lovely pictures from our last week in creche.The children sang their songs for their family and for Santa himself. Well done!

Having fun with playdough and making shapes the toddlers are enjoying themsleves rolling out the dough and placing the dough on the pictures. lots of concentration and imagination.
