The 6th Visit Nenagh Classic returns, North Tipperary Wheelers will host as from 2017 the one and only Classic ! On Saturday April 1st the weekend will kickstart with the Team Time Trial , followed by the Classic on Sunday April 2nd !

Dispute throws future of Visit Nenagh Classic into real doubt

We are currently in negotiations with Cycling Ireland to resolve this dispute , but till date no proper date has been offered to warrant the investment we make every year to host an event the scale of the Visit Nenagh Classic. We hope to come to an agreement with all parties involved and get a date that this race deserves.

Just a few weeks ago Eoin Morton (UCD Fitzcycles) did a clean sweep (a treble) at the 5th Gas Networks Ireland Visit Nenagh Classic. He took the 19.16 sprint in Cloughjordan, assembled all the maximum points uphill , dropped the remainder of the break and time trialled home to an epic victory on Pearse Street. Today, from the moment he heard there was a special secret hot spot in Nenagh on the line of the Visit Nenagh Classic he went full gas, joined by Brian McCrystal (Team Asea) . Eoin took the secret prime, took all the avalaible point on the climb of Shallee, to complete his treble with a magnificent victory in Charleville on stage 2 of the An Post Rás. RESPECT ! Congrats from all behind the one and only Classic !

Finished ! A message from the Race Director. On behalf of the Gas Networks Ireland Visit Nenagh Classic I would like to thank our hard working committee , without them it would not be possible to host a race of this scale. I would like to thank Nenagh Gardai, Tipperary Civil Defence for their support over the whole weekend. The 1916 committee in Cloughjordan who gave the race another dimension. Big THANKS to our title sponsor for the second year Gas Networks Ireland ! Tipperary County Council , for the last 5 years their support has been tremendous.
