National Women's Enterprise Day 2017 Ireland celebrated National Women's Enterprise Day 2017 at various venues throughout the country. I attend the Cork/Kerry event at the Inchadoney Hotel & Spa in Clonakilty where over 150 Ladies attended. There was a wonderful panel of speakers, Jackie Gowran of Business IQ was MC for the day and to start the Morning Sharon Corcoran, Director of Services, Economic Development, Enterprise & Tourism with Cork County Council spoke about Women's role in business and the inequality, only 10% of CEO in this country are women and she encouraged us to support and mentor younger women in Business. The next speaker was Alina Ui Chaollai, Marketing Director with Tayto Ireland, who told us all about the Tayto story and how market Tayto to the younger generation, her key message was it is Digital all the way. Following on from Alina was Lorraine Higgins, Head of Public Affairs at Retail Excellence, Lorraine had statistics highlighting the huge increase in on-line shopping, over 30% of shopping is on line and predominantly outside Ireland and is increasing year on year, she made us question our own business, the on-line growth and are we a human to human contact business. Fruit for thought. Then a panel of 4 Ladies, Deirdre Fee, Medical Mobility, Kerry, Barbara O'Sullivan, Shoozz Mallow, Cora Murphy Artist Cork City & Jacintha Warren, Warren Allen Collections Bandon all told their own story in business, the risks they took, the resilience they showed and how their business were a success.
