Cavanagh Hooper Dolan Insurances Limited (CHD) was formed in December 2007 from the amalgamation of two of the best known names in the Irish insurance industry.
The Cavanagh name was first established in the insurance industry in the North West in 1943 by the late L.C.Cavanagh. Charles Cavanagh, the Managing Director of Cavanagh Hooper Dolan Insurances, entered the business in 1981. In 1987 Charles and his wife Catherine formed a successful Life and General Brokerage, Charles Cavanagh Ltd. Since 2004, Charles has worked in various management positions with a number of International corporate brokers extending his knowledge of both national and international markets.
The other half of CHD is made up from Hooper Dolan Insurances, established in 1978, and is a leading wholesale and retail Insurance Broker, having the largest network of associate offices on this island. They were the first provisionally accredited Lloyds Broker in Ireland and currently place business with Lloyds through The Underwriting Exchange in London amongst others.
Cavanagh Hooper Dolan Insurances operate from three locations – Letterkenny, Sligo and Inishowen.
