S Mac Rory & Co. has been providing commercial, financial and taxation advice to our clients since 1994. During that period we have provided accounting, auditing, taxation and corporate finance advice to some of Donegal’s fastest growing companies. S Mac Rory & Co. was set up by Seamus Mac Rory in 1994 after the cessation of a predecessor practice T J McBride and Co. Seamus retired from the practice in 2009 but continues to act as a consultant to our clients and staff.
S Mac Rory & Co are registered auditors and are authorised to carry out investment business by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. We currently have 21 staff operating out of our premises in Market Square, Letterkenny and our branch office in Tirconaill Street, Donegal Town. The practice has three partners whose details are listed below.
Paul Carr, FCA.
In January 2009, Paul Carr, FCA was appointed as Managing Partner. Prior to joining the practice, Paul worked in industry for many years. Most recently, as Financial Controller for Boston Scientific plant in Letterkenny and prior to that in a variety of roles including Plant Controller and Operations Manager with Abbott Ireland in Sligo and Donegal Town. Paul originally qualified as an accountant with T J McBride & Co. He has brought a wealth of expertise to the practice.
Peter McDonnell, FCCA.
Peter has been with the firm since its formation. He previously worked for T.J. Mc Bride & Co. Peter is in charge of our Donegal Town Office and has a wide range of experience in accounting, taxation and auditing.
James Carlin
James Carlin has also been with the practice since formation. Prior to that he worked for T.J. McBride & Co. and has over 25 years experience in accounts preparation and tax compliance. He specialises in small firms, and farm accounts preparation. He has extensive experience in dealing with personal tax issues, revenue audits and tax investigations.
