Seán Ó Luanaigh (Craobh na nÁirne & Muckross House) is organising an event to commemorate the change in name of Henn Street to Plunkett Street in 1966. The event will take place at 12 midday on Saturday, December 31st at the Killarney Outlet Centre. Joseph Plunkett was a poet and a signatory of the 1916 Proclamation and he is also remembered in the song 'Grace' as he married his fiance Grace Gifford in the chapel in old Kilmainham Jail hours before being executed in May 1916. More details to follow. Kind Regards, Conor Doolan

Thanks to Quills and MacBee's for the loan of mannequins for our exhibit. The Exhibit is open to the public in Killarney Library and will run for several weeks, into early August. We are planning an open day for locals to bring 1916 era and War of Independence memorabilia. An historical walk is being scheduled for the coming weeks as well. Spread the word and get in touch with us if you have any questions about our events.
