We believe in creativity, imagination, play, that every child has a talent waiting to be discovered and most of all we love having fun! Crooked Mice Children’s Drama classes take place every Saturday morning in the Liffey Studio, 1 Main Street Newbridge.
Crooked Mice offers an alternative to the many stage-schools and speech and drama classes in the area, in our classes the focus is on developing personally and socially as well as refining performance skills.
Many of our students have been with us for a number of years and have taken part in a number of our in-house plays and productions as well as attending auditions and castings for professional work.
At Crooked Mice we like to take a holistic approach to learning introducing children to a wide range of theatrical styles and letting our students choose which they like to concentrate on most. We spend time working on stories and characters that they are familiar with and later on in the year we encourage them to invent their own.
Our older students are introduced to creating images, cartoon and comedy, Shakespeare, improvisation, vocal work, teamwork, commedia del arte and physical theatre to name but a few, using conventional structures to create work of their own.
The emphasis is on creating a safe, supportive and professional environment where children have the freedom to make the theatre they wish to make without feeling under pressure or self-concious.
Crooked Mice runs from 11-12pm every Saturday morning for 4-7yr olds and 1-2pm for 8-13yr olds. for more details call Sophia on 085 7357172
