Ever hear me talking about the Psoas muscle - here's why...
'Grand Stretch' Yoga! Celebrate the longer evenings, and come out of winter hibernation mode with a Grand Stretch for yourself. A new term of yoga classes to suit everyone starts tomorrow (Tuesday 20 March). Great for increasing flexibility (i.e. you do not have to be flexible to do yoga!), strengthening joints, improving circulation, and most importantly calming the mind. The class schedule is as follows: Monday 8pm (level 2-3) (term starts 26 March); Tuesday 9.30am (mixed level); Tuesday 8pm (beginners); Thursday 6.30pm (level 2-3). The children's and teen classes will restart after the Easter holidays. The term dates vary from class to class due to bank holidays and school holidays. The Tuesday and Thursday evening classes will run straight through for 6 weeks from this week (€60). Tuesday morning class will start this week, stop for the school easter holidays and resume on 10 Apr until 29 May (9 weeks, €90). The Monday class term will start on 26 March and run until 28 May stopping for the April and May bank holidays (9 weeks, €90). Please contact me if you would like more information or to book a place. Namaste. Kate 😍
Happy St. Patricks day everyone! ☘️💚
Calling all little Yogis (past, present and future!) to walk under the Kate Cuddy Yoga banner with me in the Glounthaune St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday. Going from the church at 10.45, across the road to the Community hall. Be part of the 'shortest parade in Ireland'. It's great fun! (Big Yogis also welcome of course!)
So everyone, I'm back and (almost) raring to get back at it! But before we start back to classes, and because I've had such a lovely retreat break, I'm paying it forward and have organised two retreats for you too 😍. Both will take place in the Inch Hideaway in East Cork. It's shared yurt accommodation, delicious food, surfing, meditation and of course lots of lovely yoga! The retreat dates are: Friday 18 May - Sunday 20 May 2018 Friday 30 Aug - Sunday 2 Sept 2018 The cost is €240 which includes, accommodation, food, surf hire and instruction and yoga classes. Other therapies (acupuncture, cranio sacral, massage) may be available upon request at an additional charge. Spaces are limited to 10 so be sure to book early with a €50 booking deposit to hold your place.
Having a yogatastic time in India - in case you were wondering 😜
So, we're just finished our January-February term of yoga. I'm about to head off on my Indian yoga adventure so will leave you to self practice for the next few weeks. An app that I have tried and tested that can recommend for yoga practice is 'Down Dog'. It's free! So keep up the good work and I'll see you back on the mat from 20 March for most classes. Kids and Teen Yoga will resume after the Easter holidays. Ciao for now 🙏🏻😎🇮🇳🏝🐘🛫 https://www.downdogapp.com/
All buzzed up after a very fun Teen Yoga class tonight. We were doing lunges, balances, loads of hamstring stretches (on request from a tight athlete) - even ending up in the splits! Handstand donkey kicks and two different types of headstand. Fun fun fun! I'm looking forward to next Friday's class already. Who else wants to join in the fun?? 🤸♀️😄🙃
Hi Yogis. Please come and support this worthy cause (and have a coffee and a chat - win win!) this coming Friday in Glounthaune Parish Centre.
A great article on kids doing yoga... (By the way the same applies to the grown ups! And ask anyone in my advanced classes about the cardio aspect and they'll tell you that we can certainly get the heart racing!) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness/mind/should-children-learning-yoga-classroom/
