Description
A class designed to introduce children to the many aspects of Speech and Drama, to develop the students’ understanding of Poetry, Prose, Drama, Mime and Improvisation, to develop the Voice, to improve Confidence and the ability to Speak in Public. Actress Aoibhín Garrihy, graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Acting Studies from Trinity College, Dublin in 2009 and her Licentiate Teaching Diploma with the Leinster School of Music and Drama the same year. Since then Aoibhín has featured on Irish Stage and Screen in production's such as RTEé's Fair City, Love/ Hate and Mattie, the BBC's The Fall and The Gate Theatre's production of A Woman Of No Importance and Pride and Prejudice to name but a few.
Aoibhín has now launched her own drama school, Actors and Reactors, Ennis, Co Clare. Actors and Reactors will provide a Speech and Drama class designed to introduce children to as many practical aspects of Speech and Drama as possible. The aim is to develop the students’ understanding of Poetry, Prose, Drama, Mime and Improvisation, to develop the voice and to introduce students to the theory of good speech while improving their confidence and ability to speak in public.
Actors and Reactors is a 60min class each week in which the students will learn and develop the various aspects of Speech and Drama in a fun, learning environment with a view towards showcase, exam, and festival participation. All teachers are fully qualified graduates of the Leinster School of Music and Drama.
Class Times:
10am - 11am/ 11am - 12noon: Junior and Senior Infants
12noon - 1pm: 1st and 2nd Class
1pm - 2pm: 3rd and 4th Class
2pm - 3pm: 5th and 6th Class
