Dungarvan Aglow officially begins this weekend As we light up the town on Sunday the 19th! Grattan Square will be hopping with live music, a festive market, gorgeous decorations and of course Santa himself on hand for the turning on of the lights. The fun starts from 2pm and the events run right through to Christmas, so make sure your business is ready to get involved! Festivities commence at 2PM with market stalls, children’s entertainment and live music. The Mad Hatter will be keeping everyone in high spirits from 3PM, leading the singing and making sure that the children are enjoying the entertainment. The children’s fancy dress competition is always a joy to behold, with Santa’s little helpers brightening the dark November evening in their costumes from 4pm. This year will also see amusements set up with a Merry Go Round and Pirate Ship docking into town for the day. There will also be a giant inflatable bauble that families can use to take photos - some might even consider using the photos for the front of personalised Christmas cards! It will be a packed family fun day culminating in the turning on of the illuminations that have become synonymous with Christmas in Dungarvan. The lights, which include giant Snowmen and reindeer, are a truly magical sight illuminating the entire town and bringing smiles to the faces of locals and visitors alike. “Dungarvan will be a buzzing hive of activity from 19th November until Christmas,” says Jenny Beresford, CEO of Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber, who project manages Dungarvan Aglow every year, “we are very excited to reveal an entertaining calendar of events starting with the turning on of the lights.
