The Royal Irish Yacht Club is one of Ireland's leading private members’ sailing clubs, with some 1400 members. Founded in 1831, the clubhouse is the first purpose-built yacht club in the world. The Club regularly hosts major world, European and national championships, offering outstanding sailing and clubhouse facilities to members and their guests as well as visiting sailors. The Club was awarded 'Sailing Club of the Year 2016'.

Ostar and Twostar 2017
In 'other' offshore sailing news... Congratulations to Howth sailor Conor Fogerty for winning the Gipsy Moth class and coming second on the water in the single-handed Ostar transatlantic race onboard Bam! Conor was a strong contender from the start and lead the race for a good time in very challenging conditions.

D2D RACE The lead boats have rounded Tuskar and RIYC's Rockabill VI has been duelling overnight for the lead on the water with RIYC's WOW. There are a few J109s hot on their heels and still plenty to race before the finish!
