Description
A show taking place every Monday at 3PM on 103.2 Dublin City FM with myself Sophie Murphy Philosophy Pheed is a show which aims at deconstructing difficult, abstract concepts into consumable piecemeal quantities. Some might say it is a soup of concepts, some flavours more prevalent and perhaps more difficult to digest than others. But after all, it is a soup and soup is indeed easy to eat, perhaps the easiest of all foods. But do we really eat soup at all? Perhaps we drink it? Can drinking be therefore classified the same as eating?
Join us every Monday at 3PM with myself Sophie Murphy, in our quest to locate truth through the investigation of paradoxes, exploration of semantics, and an inspection of ethical, metaphysical, and epistemological matters, all made simple.

Too full of philosophy? Listen to the 25th of July edition of Sociology Pheed, where Paul Candon and myself discuss his newly completed research on communicative capital and the public sphere. As you can see it was nonsenscical to implement any mythological creature due to this weeks theme, so a 2 dimensional sphere is going to have to suffice. soundcloud.com/dcfm-1032/philosophy-pheed-25th-july-2016?in=dcfm-1032/sets/philosophy-pheed

https://soundcloud.com/dcfm-1032/sets/philosophy-pheed Myself and soon-to-be-Dr. Keith Begley (TCD) had quite the joust in the studio the other day, discussing dualisms and opposition. The podcast shall be up early next week, but for the meantime listen back to our 27th June edition with James Miller (TCD). As if metaphysics wasn't abstract enough, we shall abstract one step further and delve into the territory of metametaphysics. (link to James Millers discussion titled as 27th July -a typo that shall be rectified in due course)
At 3pm on we shall be featuring Keith Begley from Trinity College Dublin - who is currently enduring the chrysalis of student-come-doctor - to discuss with us the concept of duality and opposition. He shall be exploring this by examining the philosophy of pre-Aristotelian Heraclitus in the context of modern philosophy of language. Night/Day Cat/Dog Work/Play are examples of some of the dichotomies that will be discussed, and how and why they differ. I feel I may have made this sound more intense than it actually is. Its not intense, cat and dog. Link to listen online: http://www.dublincityfm.ie

The May 25th edition of Philosophy Pheed is on the net. Myself and Professor Peter Simons of Department of Philosophy, Trinity College Dublin having a back and forth, perhaps more forths then backs, (his brain is indeed an expansive one.) Here we tease out why metaphysics is necessary in an epoch so invested and dependent on the natural sciences. (oo) https://soundcloud.com/dcfm-1032/sets/philosophy-pheed

For those of you who missed us yesterday on 103.2 Dublin City FM, the 16th of May edition of Philosophy Pheed, featuring Dr Dan Deasy and myself Yaophie Murphy can be found residing in 2 or 3 computers at present. It can also be found residing on Soundcloud in the near future. But as it is not future yet, it is not yet available. WATCH THIS SPACE https://soundcloud.com/search?q=philosophy%20pheed Daniel Deasy is from UCD School of Philosophy. He focuses mostly on metaphysics of time, so this discussion is dedicated to the metaphysics of time.

The only think I regret about this page, in its entirity, is not incorporating a melting clock into it somewhere. The concept of time is indeed a tricky one - if you are curious to discover the facets of its complex nature, tune in at 3pm and listen to myself and Dan Deasy from UCD School of Philosophy, University College Dublin joust back back and forth like a pendulum on 103.2 Dublin City FM. http://www.dublincityfm.ie
