Finally we can share the good news! 😄 For the 2nd time we have 2 fighters from the team entering into The Ultimate Fighter house for Season 27 Many of you will recognise @richiesmullen - a long time coach in the gym and fighter under @coach_kavanagh among the lightweight contestants. He will be missed while in the house..can't say the same for his leglock game 😥 Secondly we have @bradkatona fighting among the featherweight contestants! Brad first started training with us in 2016 then made the move to Dublin with his lovely gf @katiesaull a few months ago. New striking coach and new striking class announcement! Our lunchtime striking classes are about to get a whole lot better! 😄 Multiple Irish / Four Nations and Caged Muay Thai champion @cian_c will be taking over our 12pm session every Friday. This will be available to Combat Athlete members and above For anyone on our Foundations or Primate program we have a new class starting every Wednesday at 12pm with @ohsammyboy who boasts an impressive 11-3 ammy MMA record and has represented Team Ireland twice at IMMAF Check out his last win to witness his impressive striking abilities and how he impressed the legendary Bas Rutten 😊 2018 - we aint playin here! 👊🏼🥊

Very excited to introduce 2 new additions joining our elite coaching staff in SBG Ireland First up we have Nerijus Gulbinas becoming our new BJJ team captain taking on beginner, intermediate and advanced adult classes as well as joining our Growing Gorillas coaching staff Nerijus was awarded his black belt from Head Coach @coach_kavanagh in 2015 and becomes the 5th BJJ black belt to join our coaching staff 🥋 Secondly we have Dave Heffernan joining our striking team. Dave has coached multiple WAKO European & World champions at junior and senior level. In 2017 he was awarded WAKO Coach of the Year at the World Championships and won 5 world (1 pro) world championships and 3 European Championships as a competitor He will be teaching our Combat Athlete students Sport Karate every Thursday evening 🥊 A few more announcements to look forward to in the coming weeks 👊🏼 Looking forward to seeing all our returning students back on the mats, meeting new beginner & experienced members joining the team and having many more successes in 2018 😊

Congrats to everyone who competed and those who medalled in various events over the weekend In MMA we had @danni_neilan competing in the IMMAF world championships taking silver after losing in the final by decision @fransmlambo picked up another pro win after stopping his opponent via TKO in the 1st In BJJ we had @ciarnmoloney pick up bronze in the Cork Winter Open, @alexkeoghbjj took silver in the Junior European Gi Championships, @ryan_keoghsbg won his division at Naga Championship in France and finally @maxlallyjj won gold in both gi and no-gi Junior European Championships! Well done #TeamSBG 👊🏼🦍

This Christmas we have decided to take part in St. Vincent de Paul’s Giving Tree Appeal On our Gym Christmas tree you will notice tags hanging from the branches each listing a person and an age group to buy a present/voucher for We’d encourage our youth and adult members to take part in this if possible - even the smallest of donations can make a large impact for a family especially in the festive season If you’d like to take part please return your gifts to reception by 10th December so volunteers can redistribute the gifts before Christmas Please ensure they are unwrapped so they can confirm they are age appropriate - there will be a suggestion page for gifts printed and available to view at reception Thanks 😊🎄🎁
