Aisling started with us 5 months ago after having a baby and wanted to get stronger. The first thing she noticed was how friendly and supportive everyone was when she walked in the door. Today, Aisling is down 22Kg and is much more confident in her strength and abilities, and is chasing her first pull up! So proud of your hard work Aisling and thanks for taking the time to share your story! #wearecfi #oneteamonemission

To maximise your start on the rower follow this sequence. Power and momentum on the rowing machine is built by keeping the fly wheel spinning. We start with a full stroke, then build up from quarter-strokes to full strokes over the next 5 to find our rhythm. #rowing #concept2 #crossfit http://crossfitireland.ie/first-five-rowing-strokes/

When it comes to eating well, meal planning is one of the easiest things you can do to set yourself up for success. The beauty of it is there are no rules and you can’t really mess it up. The key is just to start, and to set aside a little bit of time each week to do it. There are so many ways to approach meal planning that, after practicing just once or twice, you’ll begin to find what works for you and your family.

As coaches, it’s important that we have role models ourselves, to keep us in line and expose us to new ways of thinking so we don’t get bogged down in our own (narrow) ideas. Three of our biggest influences are Ben Bergeron, Max El-Hag, and Pat Sherwood.

My diet isn't working! "We can forget that following a diet plan can take a bit of work. Work to plan meals, work to prepare them, self control, changing habits we've most likely built up over a long period of time. Failure to to any of these things isn't the fault of the diet plan itself. it's a failure on our part to understand that there may be some work involved or maybe even a lack of accountability on our part."
