MEET THE GUIDES: . This is our fantastic guide Sarah! Sarah was born in Co Kerry and lived in the country side near Listowel until she went to College to study Hospitality Management in Cork Institute of Technology. With the family and home Sarah grew up in hospitality became second nature! There were always coming and going, in and out of the house all day due to it being on the crossroads between everything in the neighbourhood! 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👦‍👦👨‍👧‍👦 She has always had a love of food, including how you grow and create with it. 🌾🥕🍓 Sarah has recently set up a blog called “The Green Green Gate” in which she shows how she used food from Seed to Soul from her Urban Balcony Garden and her home in Cork city! 🏡 Sarah has been baking and cooking for as long as she can remember with huge influence from my Grandmother Kitty and my mother Peggy. 🥐🍰 She has lived and travelled in Australia and Canada, all the while working in the best of restaurants and hotels. 🌍Although she loved it in the city metropolis the call of home brought her back to a place where the food and food culture is phenomenal, Ireland. 🇮🇪 Sarah now lives in Cork City with her Fiance Jason and their new baby boy Billy, in a beautiful apartment with an amazing terrace balcony overlooking looking the River Lee and the port of Cork. This is where she grows many types of flowers, vegetables, herbs and lettuces.🌿🌺🌿 Sarah worked in the famous English Market in Cork City in the Restaurant on the Mezzanine called the Farmgate. There she gained such a deep understanding of food and where food comes from. You'll find Sarah wandering through the English Market on a Fab Food Trail these days and the wonderful connection she has with the vendors who she now calls friends is evident! It is these connections, all the wonderful characters in there and the hustle and bustle of the Market that make it a truly special place for Sarah! ⚡☄⚡ Sarah now works for a new restaurant The Spitjack on Washington street as their general manager. She joined the Fab Food Family in early 2017 and has loved every minute of it! 🎉 . . . #fabfoodtrails #meettheguides #cork #corkfabfoodtrails #urbangrowing
