There's still time to add your name to our petiton to address #PlasticPollution being submitted to Government tomorrow before scrutiny of the #WasteReductionBill at www.foe.ie. We're all #SickOfPlastic. A Dáil and Seanad committee will this week begin considering a Waste Reduction Bill that would tackle plastic waste. We've joined forces with @zerowasteireland (http://bit.ly/FB-ZWI), VOICE - Voice of Irish Concern for the Environment and Uplift - People Powered Change to get a joint petition over 5,000: http://bit.ly/SickOfPlastic. There are clear steps that Minister Denis Naughten, TDs and Supermarkets can take to cut plastic waste. If we campaign hard, 2018 can be the year we turn the tide on plastic pollution. Help make it happen by signing the petition: http://bit.ly/SickOfPlastic. We want to see: A deposit and return scheme on plastic bottles. A levy on single-use plastic items, like take-away cups. A ban on micro-plastics in cosmetics and care products. Supermarkets reduce the amount of plastic packaging they use.

Free this Friday? 🎄 If so, come along to this Christmas-themed environmental activism event in Dublin! A host of different groups will speak briefly about who they are, what they can offer and what they need, and this will be complimented by speed-greeting, a table quiz, a raffle and some other activities to help activists get to know each other. Register via this link: https://friendsoftheearthirl.typeform.com/to/g40ggw Did we mention it's FREE? Donations are welcome on the evening and will go towards Young Friends of the Earth Ireland's tree-planting project in February.
