facebook.comI called out to this job last week. The plasterboard around the chimney in the sitting room was in a bad way. Upon inspection of the flashing around the chimney stack above, I uncovered a few problems with the valley.
Heres a hall stairs and landing makeover i just completed. New bannisters fitted complete with child safety gates . Walls , ceilings and woodwork painted and i made a huge mirror to help flood the area with sunlight. Very happy with it !
I'm going to start making these... for those of you wondering what it is its a Cajon drum. Im making all of mine using " half blind dovetail joints" (probably the strongest corner joint ) so they'll take a lot of abuse . I'll be making them to order and they are completely customisable ie. Solid hard wood , birch ply , colour and snare setup so prices will vary. If you know anyone in a band or might be interested feel free to tag them or let them know.
I arrived out to look at this job a week ago and it was in a very bad state. The whole floor had to be removed and replaced due to issues with rising damp and poor underfloor ventilation . I fitted new vents and damp proofing along with new joists and sub floor to make it rock solid and as good as new. The floor was then finished with an oak floor with a brushed lacquer finish... it looks great even if I do say so myself !
Here are a few photos taken before , during and after of a set of banisters I have just completed. I used Scots Pine with a white satin coat finish . It really opens up the landing and hall and floods them with light !
I got a lot of interest in cabinets and alcove units lately so i decided to put this work bench together to boost productivity .. and save my poor old back!!
