Wicklow, who love singing, dancing, acting & every opportunity to perform. Most of the group have been members from a young age and have a passion for musical theatre and all things performing. LIVE FINALISTS #6 - BELFAST VOICE & DANCE ACADEMY An International Award Winning School of performing arts from Northern Ireland . The Belfast Voice & Dance Academy is very excited to be performing in the 5th National Showchoir championships this year as they have been part of this competition since the very beginning. BVDA Showchoir is made up of young performers aged 11-18. The Academy's Showchoir recently placed 3rd in the National Showchoir America In New York on Broadway in March this year. The Academy has also competed in the International Festival of Dance & performing Arts in Disney Land Paris were they won both Open and Senior musical theatre categories. BVDA is very excited to return to Dublin in November to be part of this years competition. - Could these previous winners be our 5th year Champions this November? LIVE FINALISTS #5 - KILLINA PRESENTATION CHOIR From Offaly, they are a very hardworking group of students and they participate in a wide variety of events throughout the school year. They regularly take part in choir competitions around the country. They claimed first prize in the mixed voice competition at the Limerick Choral Festival in March of this year. They have performed in many of the school’s highly successful musical productions, including ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Seven Brides’ for Seven Brothers’. They are also kept busy singing at awards ceremonies, school masses and fundraising for local charities. This is the first time that Killina have entered a competition like this and they are really looking forward to the challenge! - Could Killina Presentation Choir be the Champions in November at The O'Reilly Theatre? LIVE FINALISTS #4 - OLSS We are a group of 60 students from 1st -6th year in Our Lady's Secondary School, Castleblayney. We meet to rehearse at lunch times most days and thoroughly enjoy performing. Our music teacher works with us on the vocal arrangements and the students choreograph our routines which makes it a real team effort. We have had a very busy year with competing and winning the Navan Choral Festival, performing for the Ombudsman for Children in Trinity College and the Cycle Against Suicide (which was our personal highlight) as well as performing backing vocals for two Album launches this year. Despite not having paid tutors work with us we perform for the pure love of performing and try to spread positivity wherever we go. Showchoir Ireland is a fantastic competition but more importantly it allows us to make new friends support each other and see the wonderful talent from around the country. LIVE FINALISTS #3 - KIDKAST Based in Drogheda Co. Louth, Kidkast has been running classes in all dance styles, Musical Theatre, Drama & singing from age 3 years to vocational level. Our students have gained great success and recognition as both performers and teachers. Our Competitive Hip Hop Crews have had great success in competitions, as have our students in various All Styles dance compeititions. This is our first venture into competitive performance for our singing and musical theatre students and we are very excited and looking forward to the competition in November and performing alongside some fantastic groups.
