‪NOT TO BE MISSED! We're delighted to announce that Aideen Barry's stop-motion film NOT TO BE KNOWN opens this week in our screening room. Seduced by the concept of the ideal homemaker and the working woman as proposed by the media, NO TO BE KNOWN (2015) shows the artist overwhelmed by the monotony and magnitude of domestic chores in nightmarish scenarios. This really has to be seen so plan your visit!

Happy 80th Birthday to David Hockney! Born on this day in 1937, the openly gay artist is celebrated as a painter, printmaker, photographer, and stage designer. To mark the day we're sharing a print from our collection, "French Shop" (1971), which was bequeathed to the Crawford in 1998 by Fr. J. McGrath. This etching was made during Hockney's return to Europe (London 1968-73, Paris 1973-75) and a few years after the vibrant Pop Art paintings, such as "A Bigger Splash" (1967), that he produced during his first years in Los Angeles. 1855-PR David Hockney, French Shop, 1971, etching (no. 371/500), 59 x 49 cm | © David Hockney https://t.co/ZnrHhDIxOY
