Knockadoon Youth Camp Knockadoon is a Catholic youth camp run by the Order of Friars Preachers (Dominicans) in Ireland under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the most Holy Rosary and St Dominic. It is situated in one of the most beautiful and picturesque areas of Ireland, a short distance from the town of Youghal on the east coast of Cork. It is an area of great natural beauty with scenic walking tracks and magnificent views of the Atlantic coast. It is an area of environmental importance, renowned for its many forms of bird and wildlife.

And that's a wrap folks , another succcessful summer season in Knockadoon over us . It's being a fantastic 12 weeks. Wonderful groups lots of laugher friendship community and faith sharing. Many thanks to all the wonderful leaders and campers , to the staff who worked so hard, the Dominican Friars for believing in and supporting this piece of heaven , and to the local community who give us so much love support and welcome when we arrive. Special thanks to Billy Harrington for all he does on camp of just in the summer but when we all go away. This year we say goodbye to Fr Maurice and welcome Fr Damian Polly as new Camp Director. Fr Damian is no stranger to the camp and locals so we wish them both all the best. Until next year folks God bless and stay safe
This afternoon we said goodbye to the music and Liturgy week who have been singing and praying here all week and having lots of fun. Tomorrow we welcome the Catholic family group to camp who will be our last group of the season finishing with the Catholic family festival next weekend. The final mass of the season will be next Sunday the 20th August at 12 noon
The Knockadoon Music and Liturgy week are well into their week with us here and working hard rehearsing for their big concert on Friday night. It's free and open to all , with the local community very much invited. It starts at 8pm but get there early to ensure a seat. Admission is free with a cuppa afterwards.
Today we celebrate the Feast of St Dominic. St Dominic founded the Dominican order . We give thanks to Fr Glendon who many many years ago established a camp in the beautiful Knockadoon. We remember all those whose footsteps have walked the camp over those years, the Friars who gave so much to ensure its survival over the years and we give thanks for the local community who continue to support the camp. Our Holy Father St Dominic continue to watch over and bless us all.
Has anyone in the local area lost a kitten. The campers have adopted a white and grey kitten here and we are anxious to get it back to its owners as the camp closes in 2 weeks
After 3 wonderful weeks , with mostly Sunshine, we say goodbye to Colaiste Curum for this year. Slan agus fanacht go sábháilte go dtí an bhliain seo chugainn. Today we welcome the team of the Music and Liturgy course with their campers arriving tomorrow afternoon. The team will lead the music for our weekly community mass at noon tomorrow followed by the annual blessing of the boats

Today we sadly said goodbye to the wonderful kids and fantastic leaders of the St Vincent DePaul week. We've had a great week with them and they were super lucky with the sunshine . Today we say hello again to Colaiste Curum who will be with us on camp for three weeks
