Cyril Desmond presents his new collection Milis Print Work - handcrafted prints of black and white ink drawings of toys set on colourful backgrounds. The collection features the ever-present toys of childhood such as dolls, trains, laser guns, dinosaurs, helicopters, xylophones and lots and lots of teddy bears and soft toys. Prints come in a choice of sizes and background colours to suit any frame style and home décor.
With Milis Print Work, Cyril can also produce one-off unique customised prints. With this option, client can have their favourite toys drawn by Cyril and printed in the style of the collection – a black and white ink print on choice of colour background. This option makes a unique and personal gift for any occasion.
Cyril explains the inspiration behind his work:
“This work is inspired by the Irish language poem Subh Milis by Séamus Ó Néill and by my three crazy kids. This poem spoke to me about how precious childhood is. We all remember our favourite teddy bear. An old toy can evoke instant memories and bring us back to more innocent times. The Milis Print Work collection aims to convey that innocence and make those memories last a little longer.”
