How Sports Performance Can Fix Functional Training
Take a look 👀 at this "functional training" article which shows up allot of flaws within different types of training types out there! Take home message from reading the article "Just as athletic performance allows training to be dictated by need and results, functional training should be dependent upon the actual needs of the individual rather than an arbitrary set of ideas governing methods and modalities." http://breakingmuscle.com/functional-fitness/how-sports-performance-can-fix-functional-training

💥 MSVP roundup ⚡️ Well it would be difficult to dive into anything sports performance related without taking stock of arguably the best national team performance in history. I'm off corse talking about the Ireland vs New Zealand game at the weekend 🏉😱 Well done to all involved,👏thought I was seeing history being replayed at one stage😳 thank god that didn't happen 🙏🏻 only a testament to the guys on the pitch. I was Delighted to be involved with the screening 💪🏻and testing📚 of the Wexford senior hurlers during the week. A brilliant experience working with some very knowledgeable people. A Great bunch of athletes with a fantastic back room team. I would definitely keep an eye on them this coming year.👀 Got the chance to add another sport to the tool box in the form of race walking when sitting Down and chatting with Evan lynch after putting him through the programme👍 take a look my previous post for more on this.👊

💥Another elite athlete 💥 Who came through the doors today in the form of race walker Evan Lynch.🏃🏻 Great guy with a serious mindset and he is only in his early 20's 😳 The man has crammed more into the last few years than the majority of people I know have done in a lifetime 👊 You can catch Evan E Lynch Nutrition & Health as he does a great job with Athletes nutrition. Anybody who would like to push to the next level of their sport as an individual athletes or clubs, message or ring number in contacts section👌
💥Does the GAA care about players?💥 Yet again discussing the turn over with friends within my own counties knock out stages in club football this past week astonished me as a sports performance coach. 😱 One main difference between sporting disciplines apart for the skill of the individual sport is the physicality of it and time of recovery requires between games / competitions. When I heard that after a season where one team had 14 weeks without a game and to play a quarter and semi final in the space of 4 days blew my mind! Is This right or is something very much so wrong with a sport that does not actively seek to protect its players? We have shouts coming from clubs wondering why the frequency of players injuries hamstrings, ACL etc are rising. Yet they accept the match schedule which appears to be void of any logic sent down to them and in turn drives their players pretty much into the ground with workload.😳 If this is the case say NO put your player, friends and family first.👨👨👦 Enough clubs doing this will change the thought process. This post was going to be a bit longer until I stumbled across this piece from the 42 and the realization that it is occurring across the country too. Short read, eye opener👀though. http://www.sportsjoe.ie/gaa/another-sunday-another-tale-club-players-abused/100199
