I am a chartered physiotherapist and an APPI trained Pilates Instructor.I specialise in Women's Health, Core Stability and Pilates. I have spent the last 8years treating core-related injuries exclusively and use a variety of treatments including manual techniques and western acupuncture to treat the following.:
Pregnancy-related conditions including:
Pelvic Girdle Dysfunction ( also known as SPD),coccyx pain, Lower Back Pain and other muscular conditions.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction including: Urinary Incontinence,Faecal Incontinence, Dyspareunia (Pain During Intercourse), Bowel Urgency during exercise,  Post-
natal Pelvic Floor check-ups for ensuring correct technique and movement of pelvic floor
Sports injuries- injuries caused by muscle imbalance and/or core weakness.These injuries present as you build up your training and be very irritating not to mention painful.Core strengthening exercises can be used for prevention of injury ( eg Pilates)
Fertility: Acupuncture
I use acupuncture for a range of conditions including those listed above

I am Chartered PHysiotherapist ( MISCP) and  Qualified Pilates Instructor ( APPI).I am a fully accredited member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society and have recently completed a postgraduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture. I have worked in a Maternity Hospital for over 7 years and experienced many many sporting injuries over my years as an enthusiastic trier of allsports! I have instructed Pregnancy Pilates, Post-natal Pilates and general Pilates classes..


I am currently studying for a Masters in Western Medical Acupuncure and am currently deep in study getting to the bottom of the facts and myths regarding Diastasis Recti Abdominis which has become a bit of "hot topic" recently! I'll let you know in September!

New Year’s Resolutions!!

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are all set for 2017. All classes are returning next week as follows: Monday 7.30pm: Beginner's Pilates. Booking required so give me a shout. Monday 8.30pm: Performance Pilates. Just turn up with a view to working hard!! Friday 9.30am: Mixed Pilates: All levels welcome as we adjust pace and difficulty to suit each individual. Pilates for 2017!

All Pilates Classes will resume the week starting Monday January 9th 2017. Urinary incontinence: why aren’t women talking about it?

Interesting read. I feel that treatment should progress from least invasive ie Physio and appropriate pelvic floor exercise program to more invasive ie electrical stim to surgical intervention. But interesting that it's recommended to avoid pelvic floor exercises straight away after delivery to allow for rest..makes sense (and I think that's what we do anyway,so now it's guilt-free!)
