Abbey Community College is an educational institution in Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland. The college is co-educational, and operates under the authority of Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board. There is also a secondary school of the same name in Ferrybank, Waterford City.HistoryAbbey Community College was formed in September 2002, following the joining of Scoil Chriost an Ri, St Mary’s College and Boyle Vocational School.QualificationsAbbey Community College offers a wide range of school educational qualifications, including Leaving Certificate, Junior Certificate, a Transition Year Programme, and Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme. The college also runs two further education courses. These are FETAC level 5 Post Leaving Certificate courses, and are taught from a separate campus.FacilitiesAbbey Community College contains newly built facilities, including a lecture/demonstration room, a computerised language laboratory, an information technology department, a library, as well as specialist rooms for other subjects, including art, engineering, technical graphics, home economics, and music. Each of the school's thirty six classrooms are fitted with a projector, which can utilise the whiteboards as a screen for PowerPoint presentations for students, etc. The school is also home to three science laboratories. Sports facilities include basketball and tennis courts, a football pitch and access to the indoor sports complex situated on the school grounds.
