Funky Hat Hire Boutique based in Athlone/Roscommon area. Ideal for wedding guests and ladies day outfits. One-off designs. By appointment. My passion for millinery started in 2007 when I did a 5 day course in Edinburgh with Yvette Jelfs milliner. My hobby was actually doing millinery courses. In 2008 I did a weekend course in Kilkenny with the amazing Linda McKay and then introduced my sister Brenda to millinery with a 5 day course with Linda. Brenda got the bug too. I've done 3 courses with Lina Stein in Westport, 2 days in Birmingham with the fabulous Justine Bradley Hill learning silk flower making and how to use Jinsin. I can't forget Bridget Bailey from Bailey Tomlin. Brenda and I did 5 days in total with Bridget making such beautiful, delicat silk and velvet flowers and how to dye different fabrics. In November 2013 I decided I'd have a go at trying to make a business out of it outside of my normal work. I just love it. So thank you for all your support and kind words. I've met so many lovely people over the years at courses etc, so thank you! It's so appreciated. Marie x

Maggie is wearing the most amazing Don O’Neill dress and I teamed it with this beautiful gold spiky crown. It’s modern and fresh, just to keep with the theme of the dress. Brilliant night in Hodson Bay Hotel last night at St Brigid’s GAA fashion show. Met lots of wonderful ladies who got to try on my hats for hire. There was such a great buzz. I was delighted to get 10 of my pieces on the catwalk too. My models were amazing. Thank you Fiona, Ger, Jannette, Alanna and May for wearing them so well. Sissy you did an amazing job behind the scenes organising it - and your team of ladies. So well organised.
