The St Vincent de Paul Society (or as it is often known - the SVP) is an international Christian voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing practical assistance to those in need – irrespective of ideology, faith, ethnicity, age or gender. The Society is a lay organisation initially formed in Paris in 1833 by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam and his companions, and active in England & Wales since 1844. Placed under the Patronage of St Vincent de Paul, it is inspired by his thinking and works. It seeks, in the spirit of justice and charity, to help those who are suffering poverty in whatever form.

With Christmas upon us, we at Vincents would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers, staff, every one who so generously donates and all our fabulous customers for their support in 2017. Great to have People First Credit Union at the shop today for the November draw of the monthly members prize draw. Thanks to Carol and the team and thanks to all our customers for supporting us today. Hope to see ye all next Saturday at Abbeyleix Christmas Fair and turning on of the festive lights.
Vincent’s Shop will be closed today 23rd November from 3pm for renovation. We will be open again on Friday morning 24th November at 10am. Donations can still be made at the back of the shop. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank you for your support.
Vincent’s shop in Abbeyleix has been chosen to host the People First Credit Union Monthly draw this Friday24th November. There is a fabulous first prize of €10,000 ,prize of €1000 plus numerous other prizes. We will also have a free door prize draw for all who attend on Friday morning, so come into Vincent’s Abbeyleix and be in with a chance to WIN. There will be a Half Price Sale and goodies in store too, don’t miss it, 11am Friday Morning.
