Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAIS)
Description
Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School
宣道會劉平齋紀念國際學校 CAIS has educated international students for over two decades. We were founded by the Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance (KTAC). In fact, CAIS is one of sixteen schools run by the KTAC, which altogether educate over 11,000 students in Hong Kong.
Our doors opened in September 1992. We started with an enrolment of just 40 students from Grades 7 to 11. Grade 12 was introduced the following year and the enrolment increased to nearly 90 students. Grades 1 to 6 joined the school in 1995 and Preparatory was added in 1996. CAIS presently serves 850 students from more than 20 different countries; a rich diversity of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Amidst this growth, CAIS has remained committed to a unique vision of educating the whole child: mind, body and spirit.
Over the years, CAIS has grown in many ways. We have enriched our academic and extracurricular program. The school gained accreditation by Alberta Education in 2006. Our learning community has grown ever stronger over the years, with deepening partnerships between parents, students and teachers.
In July 2009, the Government of Hong Kong awarded CAIS a land grant for construction of a 1600 student school building in Lai Chi Kok. The new building will be developed in several stages and should be fully operational by August 2016. This campus will see a fresh expression of our vision to educate the whole child through academics, faith, athletics and the arts. Thrilling new chapters are yet to be written in the CAIS story and we invite you to join us as this adventure unfolds.

25th Anniversary Thanksgiving BBQ
Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Faithfulness is the theme for commemorating CAIS’ anniversary throughout the 2015-2016 school year. More than 400 students, parents, alumni, staff, and friends gathered for a community BBQ on Saturday, including burgers and hot dogs from the grill, face painting, cotton candy, and a special visit from Azul, the school mascot. Mr. Enns reminisced a bit about the School’s growth from 40 to over 1,000 students, and the global impact graduates are making in their chosen careers and professions. Student musical performances wrapped up a beautiful, sunny day. Warm thanks to all who attended, with special appreciation for student, parent and staff volunteers who helped make the day a big success! #CAIS25 #BBQ
