Unpack and make yourself at home in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, while experiencing Bavaria & Beyond on a 11-day tour package! For decades, the quaint Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen has attracted visitors from around the globe. Following World War II, the U.S. military established several hotels in this relaxing Alpine village, making it a popular R&R destination for U.S. military service members. Beginning in 2004, 11-day tour packages designed with the retiree traveler in mind were offered by one of these hotels. In the years to follow, these tour packages grew in popularity with guests from across the United States attending. Unfortunately, in 2015 as the tours were peaking in popularity, this cherished program was discontinued. Due to changes in the Status of Forces Agreement, retired military members were no longer eligible to stay at the military resort.

My name is Jake Krengel and for several years I had the privilege of coordinating and hosting these wonderful vacation packages. As the program drew to a close, I listened to concerns regarding its future. I was moved to action and got to work developing a similar program – Bavaria & Beyond Tours. This new program was established with the goal of providing worry-free and culturally insightful tours, designed with the American retiree traveler in mind. We strive to develop personal and caring relationships with our guests, while ensuring a delightful vacation.

The “Home-Away-From-Home” experience distinguishes our tours from other vacation packages offered in the region. While many tours have guests living out of a suitcase and sleeping in a different hotel each night, we make sure our guests settle in upon arrival, as they will be calling beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen home for the following 11 days.  Garmisch-Partenkirchen’s central location just south of Munich and north of Innsbruck allows us to schedule day excursions to the many world-renowned travel destinations in the immediate area.
