Scandinavian Open Championships 2013. In 2013, The Scandinavian Championships are hosted by The Holbæk Pipe Band.
The dates are 1st and 2nd of June, this means that we have moved away from Whitsun Weekend (Pinsen).
It will be possible to stay at a local school at a low cost from Friday to Sunday.
The Championships will be held in Nyvang, see more at www.andelslandsbyen.dk,
on the outskirts of the city of Holbæk.
Some of the reasons to moving away from Whitsun are:
- we avoid competing with a large local event that will overshadow us
- we move to the month of June, where the chance of good weather is better
- we avoid a weekend that is full of family get-togethers, confirmation feasts aso
- we move to a weekend where there are no major competitions in Scotland, this makes it easier for us to get Scottish judges
A rough layout of the weekend is as follows:
Saturday
- band competitions grade 4, MAP (both 4A and 4B), Open Grade Medley and Open Grade MSR
- Drum Majors competition
- the games party at a local school
- judges recital
Sunday
- solo competitions
