Beijing’s first retro game bar has landed on the east side of Gulou. A hutong bar with a nostalgic difference, 8-BIT provides comfortable surroundings, a full array of quality alcohol and, of course, a classic lineup of 80s and 90s consoles, games and competitions.
Cold beer, winter warmers and all your mates in one room.

Providing genuine retro gaming on original old-skool consoles (none of that simulator bullsh*t) 8 BIT Bar has invested in collectible, fully working versions of vintage favorites like the NES, SNES, Atari, Mega Drive and the (Super) Game Boy.
Of course, no console lineup would mean anything without heavy-duty cartridges to put life in our aging electronics. Boasting over 100 original games – including Mario, Sonic, Tetris, Pac Man, Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter 2, Killer Instinct, F-Zero, Streets of Rage, Starwing, Super Bomberman, Primal Rage, Smash TV, Mario Kart, Metroid, Mega Man, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam with more titles arriving weekly.
8-BIT is offering a time machine direct to your cartridge-blowing childhoods.
There’ll be weekly game competitions on the various console platforms with games from Street Fighter to Tetris and monthly high score competitions to boot.
Traditional British pub snack favourites such as monster munch, the real Mccoy’s, walkers, pork scratchings and jerky are available.

Various consoles will be set up to assist new or old players in learning basics. 8pm-8:30pm: Mini Tournament. There will be multiple consoles each acting as its own tournament. There will be a limit of 10 people at each Console. Champion of each group will receive a free drink. 8:30-9:30: Doubles Tournament. Partners will be chosen at random. Champions will receive a free drink. 9:30pm-11:00pm: Main Tournament. Competitive, structured double elimination with 3 stock, no items, random map. A very special prize for first place! Join us at 8-BIT on Thursday February 25th for a night full of N64 Smash bros! Here is how it will go down. 7pm-8pm: Practice/ Training with Instructor. Various consoles will be set up to assist new or old players in learning basics. 8pm-9:30pm: 3 Mini Tournaments. There will be multiple consoles each acting as its own tournament. Each tournament will be single elimination and each tournament will be randomly selected chosen from 1 of 6 predetermined game styles. Champion of each group will receive a free drink. 9:30pm-11:00pm: Main Tournament. Competitive, structured single elimination with 3 stock, no items. There will be special awards after each round. Cash prize for Champion and runner up. Free shots for first ten people that sign up via the QR code. Game on!

Tonight! Wednesday February 10th. Back from our brief spring festival break 8-BIT is recharged and ready to begin a weeks long worth of events. It's the year of the monkey so it's on like Donkey Kong! As we were closed on our usual all night happy hour night we are going to host this deal for tonight. This includes Kirin 600ml bottles for 20RMB. Classic cocktails for 30RMB. 10RMB off all Arrow Factory draft. Mulled wine 30RMB. We will have a high score competition with the original Donkey Kong game to be played on the Super gameboy. Great prizes to be won. As usual with our Wednesday's there will also be neon beer pong!
