~ Kundalini Yoga to Release and Resist Stress ~ May is by far my favourite month! It's also one of the busiest months - school trips, sports, yard work, spring procrastinating...I mean cleaning (lol), and (ugh) report cards. I notice the brighter and longer days and change in routines can leave an impact. It's this time of year that I double up on my efforts to stay healthy, calm, and energized. Kundalini Yoga is the perfect antidote to daily stresses and challenges. I love the technology and wisdom available in exercises, breathwork, mantras, and meditation to not only release stress but to create a strength in the nervous system and the self to resist it and avoid its impact on the body, mind and spirit. Kundalini Yoga helps create space between the stressor and the response as it creates new pathways (and new responses) dominated by your parasympathetic nervous system to help you creatively and powerfully move through challenges with greater awareness, peace, and grace. Imagine...what would that look like for you? So, for the month of May, my Kundalini Yoga classes will focus on strengthening the nervous system and creating opportunity for stress release and relaxation -- a perfect balance of work and rest. Celebrate International Coaching Week! Congratulations to all you fabulous life coaches who make a difference by helping people see their best and supporting them in creating the pathways that lead to their full potential in life, love and joy! I completed Susan T Howson's Kids Coaching Connection program in 2015. What started as a great idea for a 40th birthday experience with my twin sister, led to an amazing journey of discovery and connection. I am so lucky! Kids Coaching Connection has provided me with a variety of tools (and perspectives!) to help me be the wife, mother, and teacher I am to be and shine a similar light that was shared to me in my relationships with my family and students. My newfound understandings and skills formed the basis of a new paradigm that I work, live, and love in. #Blessed So, congratulations and gratitude to Susan, my fellow trainees (including my sister Anna, nieces Corrine, Janine and Katelyn, and my daughter Kristen), my family of Kids Coaching Connection Coaches, and my new emerging family of coaches including Dianne Harrison and Paula Nowak-Droog. Thank you to Melissa and the Recreation Department staff for hosting this lovely yoga experience for a great cause. Please note - White Willow's Community Yoga event originally scheduled for this Friday, May 5 is postponed until June. Hope to see you on Saturday instead!

"I fill my heart with this simple prayer: thank you, thank you, thank you." It's been a week since White Willow celebrated our first Spring Retreat and I find myself in great appreciation for every one who made it the beautiful experience it was. Thank you to our guest wellness experts. Susan Howson reminded us our of our treasures within and to nurture the growth within us. Melissa Scott taught us how to mindfully nourish ourselves and trust our wisdom rather than rely on the myriad of conflicting messages out there. Connie Dickson provided us with important tips to create a meditation practice that works for today's lifestyle. Paula Nowak-Droog provided a hands-on experience for balancing energy and self-healing. Dianne Harrison supported our goals of renewal with the tools to make them happen. And Jennie Schminaski helped us answer our questions to see how to move forward with insight and joy. Thank you, too, to our harpist, Dana Davidson who provided a lovely backdrop for our yoga practice. And a special thank you to our guests! Your openness and radiance created a special day for everyone to shine. Looking forward to our next retreat and many new blessings! Sat Nam, Mary

Happy Birthday, Brianna! So happy to celebrate Brianna's birthday with her and her friends today:) The girls enjoyed a variety of fun yoga activities. They moved and grooved to "Monster High Yoga" and "Keep it Up" and also explored fun yoga shapes. Brianna said her favourite yoga activity was the bubble one: the girls choose their favourite yoga cards and held the pose until all the bubbles popped. They did so well! So glad we could celebrate with Brianna and her amazing friends. Keep shining! (...thank you moms and dads for your permission to post pictures of the good time they had!) White Willow's Retreat ~ Saturday, April 22 Welcome to Dianne Harrison and Jennie Schimanski! We are thrilled to partner with wellness gurus Dianne Harrison and Jennie Schimanski. Both bring an abundance of energy and inspiration as they share their wisdom and guidance to reveal, enhance and support you in living your best life. Dianne Harrison is a Life Coach working with busy women who seek balance in their lives. Using goal-setting and meditation as the vehicles for living a mindful life, Dianne's session are energetic and fun. On Saturday, Dianne will help you find the balance we all wish to achieve. She invites you to spend the afternoon visioning what that balanced life looks like and develop a clear action plan for making it happen. We are happy to have this popular motivator joining us! Jennie Schimanski is a healer who dedicates her time, experience and knowledge to show others how to become the best version of themselves that they wish to be. Using a variety of techniques and what ever it takes to release, acknowledge, heal and move on with life, she supports healing and insight to free you into a life with Joy. Jennie will be introducing the All Game on Saturday afternoon. She facilitates and supports participants to help uncover and move through anything that may be in the way of choosing and experiencing true joy. We look forward to having Jennie help us realize our potential and provide insight, instruction and empowerment to mindfully move towards it. So thankful!
