IMCL is a creative circle based in Toronto, Canada that works for advancement of Indian subcontinental arts around the world. Founded by Umama Ittela, an award winning dance performer and choreographer & Meetoon Reza, a scholarly musician of the subcontinental culture, IMCL has been formed as an inclusive performing arts cirlce that opts to educate and deliver creative skills with excellence and distinction. As an art’s craftsman, the couple believe in fusion of contemporary & classical, fashionable & folk, and the heritage ornamented with style of the trends. IMCL have always represented South Asia with its majestic legacy of culture in the most creative & fashionable way. Classical Jazz, Chow, Raibeshe, Traditional Folk, Sequenced Choreography, Katthak, Varatnatyam, Oddissi etc are the ruling dance forms practiced by the circle. Several popular plays from Comedy to Literature, Classic to Short-Portrayals have been performed by team globally for years. With everything pulled together, IMCL, endeavors to produce creatively & ingeniously formulating art, imagination & custom in conformity.
Ittela & Meetoon, as individual artists have been educated in classical dance forms from India, Bangladesh and creative contemporary forms from Canada. They have individually performed in more than hundreds of shows; most of these were international exchange programs, community shows and corporate events. Together, they have started their artistic journey by representing South Asian culture in the 18th International Trade Fair, ASSAM in 2011. Since then, the duo has developed their skills through exchange and trainings around the world and organized innumerable events with an objective of community development in Canada and USA. To bridge the cultural gap of diaspora community, and spread the knowledge southeast asian culture, IMCL organize workshops, literature clubs, exchange programs and unique engagements within the circle. To expand the horizon of ethnic customs, and upkeep community advancement, please follow IMCL and support its endeavors.
