This is a condo community website. AKA Brewery Lofts Erected in 1956 as a warehouse, 90 Sumach became the design centre for the beginning of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's television era. For decades the CBC's archives, studios, rehearsal spaces and workshops thrived here.
Respected artists such as Glenn Gould, Jim Henson and Lorne Michaels once worked within these walls. Though 90 Sumach was converted to live/work lofts in the late 1990's, it is still home to a diverse range of artists, designers and other creative professionals.

We are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers who help with various aspects of keeping 90 Sumach special. Last week some neighbours got together with some of the art committee to re-organize the P2 Book Exchange and purge the overflow of books - which go to a local charity who needs books for their own library. Next time you are there, take note of how nicely the team has organized each section by genre, author, etc.
ANNUAL IN-SUITE FIRE INSPECTION & TESTING Please be advised that on: Wednesday February 24th to Friday February 26th, 2016 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Vital Safety Systems will be conducting the Annual Fire Inspection. Please be aware that access to your unit will be required during this time. If you are not available to provide access, we have arranged for a Security Guard to give the contractor access and remain in the suite until the contractor has finished the work. The alarms will be ringing intermittently during the testing period. Should an actual emergency occur during the testing, the fire alarms will ring continuously. New code stipulates that all units must have working Carbon Monoxide detectors installed near sleeping areas. Vital will be checking to ensure all units are compliant. Owners which do not have them will be noted in their deficiencies list after inspection and will have two (2) weeks to obtain one or Vital will install one at owner's cost. OWNERS MEETING & VOTE - SHORT TERM LEASE RULE Dear 90 Sumach Owners Since we first issued the new short term lease rule around Christmas; we have heard from several of you - we’ve been following the Discussion Forum posts as well. The requisite 15% of owners have requested a formal meeting in writing. This formal owners meeting, as requested by the 15% of owners, will allow for everyone to discuss whether the 6 (six) month rule is warranted... and if not, create another option. This new option and the original rule would be voted on at the same meeting. Everyone will have a chance to hear all sides and form their own opinion. At the end of the day the Board is seeking to create a rule that is accepted by the majority - with the common goal of reducing liability in the building while creating a reasonable rule. Owners Meeting to Discuss Short Term Lease Rule & Vote: When: 7pm - Tuesday, March 1st, 2016. Where: Amenity Room Our property manager(s) will be in attendance along with Board members. For the meeting to be valid, a 25% quorum of owners must be in attendance, either by proxy or in person. A 50% vote is needed at the meeting for resolution. Thank you for your understanding. We need to hear from as many owners as possible on this matter. If you cannot attend, we encourage owners to vote by proxy. My dad recently gave me my maternal grandfather's 35mm Konica camera that all of our family photos he took over 40 years ago were shot with. The amazing thing is it was still covered in sawdust from his workshop (he was a carpenter by trade). That sawdust has been untouched for like 30 years.
