We don’t like to brag, but … this is kind of a big deal for us. In March 2017 Christie Gardens was honoured with the distinction of being the first organization in Ontario to be approved to join the Eden Registry by The Eden Alternative, an "international, non-profit organization dedicated to creating quality of life for Elders and their care partners, wherever they may live”. Flashback to the 1920s!
Our wonderful George Brown Activation students threw a bash celebrating the 1920s. We had a ball, and especially enjoyed their creative photobooth!
Theatre Project
Over the past few weeks, residents have been working with drama students from Rosedale Heights School of the Arts to create a play which will be performed at Christie Gardens in May. Here is a small glimpse of what their preparations have entailed so far!
Hands on Exotics 2017
What a wild and fun time we had with Hands on Exotics! For the hour we had a baby kangaroo bouncing around the room, Netherland Dwarf rabbits hopping here and there, parrots squawking and singing, and so much more. We couldn't help but feel like we were in a warm, exotic place.

Yesterday the leadership team surprised our employees with a giant ice-cream bar, to show our appreciation for all the hard work they do. Recent family and resident survey results indicate Christie Gardens rates high on generosity, optimism, and trust. Thanks to our valuable employees, Christie is most definitely a community you can have faith in!

Write for Rights
Our Amnesty Letter-Writing Group held a Write for Rights event on December 10th, International Human Rights Day. Altogether, 75 letters were written and dozens of signatures added to petitions and postcards in support of people around the world whose human rights are being denied.
