Today’s (weather appropriate) #WorkofArtWednesday is Patrick Bernatchez’s feature-length film Lost in Time, a work from his exhibition Les Temps inachevés, opening Winter 2016 at The Power Plant. Two parallel narratives intertwine in the film: the first follows a helmet-clad, faceless horse and rider adrift in an indeterminate landscape of ice and snow (quite literally lost in time and space), while the second seems to allude to a strange scientific experiment. Trek through the stormscape of Lost in Time throughout our Winter 2016 Season, on view Jan. 30 – May 15. #LesTempsinacheves // bit.ly/1UtV9kT

As part of #WorkofArtWednesday, we’ll be introducing a different artist from our Winter 2016 Season each Wednesday from now until the Season’s opening on Friday, Jan. 29. Today’s #WorkofArtWednesday is Carlos Amorales’ installation Black Cloud. We’re happy to announce that the installation will continue to bewitch our visitors for another exhibition season! Black Cloud is made up of 27 different varieties of 30,000 paper moths which swarm the gallery’s Fleck Clerestory. Recalling a phenomenon from the Industrial Revolution, the piece is fitting call to The Power Plant’s past as a coal burning facility. #BlackCloud // bit.ly/1KHBBaL

Today’s #WorkofArtWednesday is Leslie Hewitt’s two-channel video installation, Untitled (Structures), in collaboration with renowned cinematographer Bradford Young. Seeing its Canadian premiere at The Power Plant, the piece is provoked by a collection of mid-twentieth-century photographs exploring shifting notions of nationhood, protest and belonging housed at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas. Explore the tension between still photography and the cinematic experience of moving images with Untitled (Structures) during our Winter 2016 Season, on view Jan. 30 – May 15. #CollectiveStance // bit.ly/1JVFQMg

Checking out Carlos Amorales' #BlackCloud at The Power Plant. I love how art can be so transportive. It can shock your perspective and beliefs and that is why I took my cousin here.
