These two Mezzotint prints from the Beverley Place Bed and Breakfast were severely damaged in a flood 9 months ago. A deep brown stain ran through each print from the flood water. After much testing, we decided to cleanse the stain via a solvent bath. In very recent news a Canadian art expert is pressing that a sketchbook attributed to Vincent Van Gogh has been found and is real. This is a very classic case of the tribulations an owner goes through to authenticate work. It takes years. A lot of lawyers. A lot art mixed with a lot of science. Good thing that Van Gogh is being showcased at the AGO this season and copies of the sketchbook are there. You decide. Are the pen strokes the same? Is the composition the same?
