Spring Cleaning Tip: Check Your Smoke Alarms! It's a good habit to change your smoke alarm batteries whenever the clocks turn forward. It'll guarantee that your home is always ready to respond to a fire - few batteries will die in under a year. Also, make sure that your alarms are working! Press the button on one of your smoke alarms, and get a friend or family member to check if all your other alarms are sounding. If one is not, change its batteries and try again. If it's still malfunctioning, it might be time for a new alarm.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, and some may argue that a daily glass of red wine could do the same. Moderate consumption of red wine may decrease your chances of developing heart disease. But does this claim stand up to research? Some studies suggest a link between red wine and heart disease, but there is no clear reason for why this might be the case. Wine only slightly reduces bad cholesterol levels - you could achieve the same by doing some light exercise. Though the beverage contains heart-healthy resveratrol, you would have to drink many, many bottles for it to make a difference in your heart health. Overall, you can still indulge in your daily glass of wine, as long as you stay within the recommended intake of one glass per day for women, and two for men. However, if you want to improve your heart health, we'd suggest adopting a healthy lifestyle with better food choices and more exercise. #HeartMonth #HeartHealth
