Proprietor, Sherry McCormick purchased Lockhart's Weddings in June of 2017 and feels that life has come full circle for her owning a business just down the street from the house that her grandparents lived for many years. In fact, she would have skipped right past Broad Gables on her shopping trips to "downtown" Sussex with her Aunt Violet. Sherry has an extensive background in all things weddings with owning a wedding planning business since 2010 and a tuxedo company since 2013.

Hi Everyone, I just got a call asking if we are closing. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT. How this rumor started is, we DONATED some older wedding, prom & formal wear dresses to the Mission Thrift Store in Saint John as well as to Sussex High School drama dept. on Saturday. Apparently, someone went into Mission Thrift Shop and asked where they got the dresses, they said they were donated by Lockhart's in Sussex. They took it upon themselves to post to FB and call their friends saying that we were closing and donating our dresses to the Mission Thrift Store. I can ASSURE you that we are NOT CLOSING. My shop is fully stocked with beautiful dresses. We are partnering with some amazing companies and new designers (announcements coming soon) AND our business has never been better or busier. I wanted to nip this ridiculous rumor right away so that there is absolutely no confusion. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call me directly at 432-6594!
