May is Physiotherapy Month and the WNGH Physio team celebrated by hosting a fun sample gym class for staff! The exercises included a glimpse of what residents and patients might do during a Physio session, followed by a tasty healthy treat provided by our Dietitian Colleen Turner. A big thank you to the Physio team for organizing such a great event and to Colleen Turner for the yummy treat! (Pictured left to right- Cedric Gingras Hill, Shayla Lamoureux, Crystale Renaud, and Justine Desbiens! Did you know that Physiotherapy treatment can include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, acupuncture, electrical modalities such as TENS or ultrasound, and work hardening. The Rehabilitation/Physio services promote independence, which means the emphasis is placed on what you can do for yourself and education on the prevention of future injuries or disability. The department provides services to in-patients from Acute Care, CCC and LTC residents.
