Polykar is based in Saint-Laurent, Québec, and sells its products to distributors of sanitation products, food products and packaging across Canada. The company is a supplier to major buying groups including Adapt, Balpex, Colabor, Dissan and Itwal.

Polykar is an engaged industry participant and is a member of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA - http://www.plastics.ca/home/index.php), the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association (CSSA - http://cssa.com/index.php?lang=en), the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB - http://www.cfib-fcei.ca/english/index.html), and the Compost Council of Canada (CCC - http://www.compost.org/English/ENGLISH_INDEX.htm).

Founded in 1987, Polykar's first purpose-built facility covered an area of 32,000 sq. ft. on Boulevard Thimens. In 2010, Polykar moved into its second purpose built, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified facility to double its working area to nearly 75,000 sq. ft.

LEED is an internationally recognized  environmental certification for buildings and was created to define a universal standard for “green buildings” while promoting the benefits of environmental design and construction.
