Hospice Greater Saint John is the parent company of both Bobby’s Hospice and The Hospice Shoppe.

Bobby’s Hospice is our community’s 10-bed palliative care home that cares for over 150 people each year living with a terminal illness and coping with loss.  Every day our team of expert healthcare professionals and trained volunteers provide 24-hour quality care to people in the final weeks and months of life and help families to cope with the loss of a loved one.

“Bobby’s Hospice made the last few days of my husband’s life so much easier for him and our family.  We felt loved and cared for and will always be thankful that there is such a home away from home.” – A Wife

The cost of care at Bobby’s Hospice is $465/day.  Government is providing $200/day which covers the costs of our 24-hour expert nursing team.  Hospice must raise $1M each year to cover the remaining costs of care which include food, laundry, medical supplies, heat, lights, laundry, etc. are funded by our generous community.

The Hospice Shoppe, an upscale second-hand boutique that sells donated clothing and household items with 100% of the proceeds funding care at Bobby’s Hospice. Your donations to The Hospice Shoppe and to Bobby’s Hospice will make a tremendous difference right here at home to people we all know.

We received the nicest thank you and gift box today at Bobby's Hospice. Thank you to everyone who supports our work! It means a great deal. “Hello! You cared for my brother and all of us in late 2015 and we are still so grateful. Often when I buy coffee or tea in the grocery store, I think of buying it for you and sending it down so the next family will have what they need too. I also want to tell you that I work in healthcare policy in Ottawa and I have told our story of Bobby’s Hospice often. There is a group in Saskatchewan who heard that you keep soap/shampoo/toothpaste, etc. for families who need it and how desperately comforting that was for me – small things really do stick with you in that surreal time – and they started doing it too in hospital for families who didn’t plan to stay overnight. Thank you for their inspiration. I hope this finds you well. The work you do makes – in big and small ways – all the difference!” A Sister and Family

Thank you to everyone who donated items to our Hospice Shoppe in 2017! If your items were sold in The Shoppe, your income tax receipt has been mailed to you. Please note, not all the items you donate are selected for sale in our Shoppe. The Hospice Shoppe is an upscale, second-hand boutique. We only sell items that are current and like new in The Hospice Shoppe. The items we don't sell are donated to NB Community Living and they use them to support their services to people with an intellectual disability. Rest assured, everything you donate is helping someone in New Brunswick even if you didn't receive an income tax receipt. The proceeds from our Hospice Shoppe help us to care for over 150 people at Bobby's Hospice each year. Some of these people are your friends, neighbors and even family members. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you for helping others in need by donating your excess clothing and household goods to our Hospice Shoppe. If you moved and forgot to give us your new address, you may have an income tax receipt that has been returned to us. You can inquire by calling 632-5593.
