Description
The Township of Terrace Bay is located 2 hours Northeast of Thunder Bay at the Top of Lake Superior. The Municipality is home to the Terrace Bay Lighthouse, the Slate Islands, the Aguasabon Falls, the Annual Dragfest Event and Many Beautiful Beaches. Terrace Bay is a small rural Township with 1,600 residents. The major industries are forestry, railway, healthcare, education and services.

The Township is looking for volunteers to assist with the upcoming Hazardous Waste Day to be held on May 13, from 11am to 2pm. Volunteers should arrive at the Tourism Information Centre parking lot by 10:30 for setup and a safety briefing. Work consists of sorting waste into the appropriate containers under the guidance of GFL contractors. No experience is necessary and lunch will be provided. A tent will be set up in the event of inclement weather. If you are interested, or for more information, please contact Linda or Stephan at the Town Office.

The Casque Isles Hiking Club is looking for volunteers to assist with a trail maintenance sweep of the 52 km long Casque Isles Hiking Trail—from Rossport to Terrace Bay—on May 13th and 14th. Volunteers will meet with the club on May 13th at 9:00am in the Schreiber Beach Parking Lot and they will conclude the day with a barbecue at Schreiber Beach! Meet up time and location for the 14th will be determined on the 13th. The Hiking Club will be looking to clear deadfalls and debris from the trail as well as install or replace trail markers. Come out to the COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR on Tuesday, May 9 from 11am to 4pm at the Michael King Hall. The Health Fair is to provide residents in our area with the opportunity to see what services are available and to meet the service providers.
