Protecting yourself and respecting others

The City of Saint John uses social media sites to share City news and information with the public and provide notifications in the event of an urgent or emergency situation. The accounts are not intended to be used as a substitute for personalized Customer Service. Comments are monitored by the City of Saint John periodically and primarily during business hours, Monday to Friday. However, in the event of an emergency, the sites may be monitored after regular business hours. If you have comments or questions regarding City of Saint John services, your best point of contact is Customer Service at (506) 658-4455 or email service@saintjohn.ca.

Social media is a public forum so please bear this in mind when posting comments, especially personal information. For example, if you are reporting a problem, the best contact you can make is to call our Customer Service Line, and hold off giving your personal or identifying information online.

When commenting on our social media pages, we ask that you please keep posts relevant. The City of Saint John reserves the right to hide or remove any comments that are offensive or inappropriate and report comments to the authorities if need be. If you find any comments to be inappropriate, please let us know by contacting Customer Service and reporting them to Facebook. People who cause conflict or offence to others, or use offensive language may be removed and blocked from our social media pages.

Finally, a ‘Like’, ‘share’, ‘retweet’ or other link posted by the City should not be taken as a formal endorsement.
