Starting Each Day on a Positive Note Mourning the loss of a loved one is a difficult passage for some of us, as we transgress the stages of grief. Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the day-to-day pace of our lives and finding the energy to tackle routine responsibilities is difficult. Our thoughts create emotions, and as we all know, what we choose to think about can have positive or negative effects on our mood and disposition. Incorporating a practice of self-care into a morning routine can produce a ripple effect, one that weaves its way into the fabric of our day. Suggestions to start each day on a positive note include: • Meditate for a few minutes, focus on breathing and on being calm. • Think about what brings you happiness and give thanks for the joys in life. It's about attitude and gratitude. • Avoid the clamour and noise of the outside world. Make time to do what you need to get done, without rushing. • And ask yourself, what single thing you can do to make today remarkable. Whelan Funeral Home/Cfhconline

Sources of Life Insurance In addition to the standard personal life insurance policies carried for the protection of loved ones, estates of individuals may be entitled to additional life insurance death benefits from other organizations with whom the deceased was associated. Death benefits may be payable on life insurance policies from: • Employee benefit packages • Association membership privileges • Mortgage insurances • Credit card holder agreements • Agreements which insure leases or lines of credit A simple inquiry may result in the estate receiving benefits which otherwise would go unnoticed. Placing a list of all insurers with your “papers” will make this information easily accessible to your executor or executrix when needed. Whelan Funeral Home/Cfhconline
