Horseback riding, care of and horse behaviour is our focus of teaching our students. We have many programs for participants to be part of to start their horsemanship journey.

Nature Connections & Stillwater Stables have joined together to offer a one day Earth Skills and Horsemanship program for homeschoolers! Wednesday June 22 10:00 – 3:00 Ages 7 – 14 years Fee $45+ HST The day will be broken up into two sessions, Horsemanship and Earth skills. During horsemanship your child will lead their horse through the obstacle course and learn about leadership through body language. While riding and grooming they will learn techniques to build a trusting, confident and respectful relationship with their equines. For the Earth Skills session, your child will learn to expand all of their senses while trusting their instincts and working together to overcome challenges. We will play skill-building games that are engaging and fun based on the lessons we can learn from how many animals work together in herds or packs for survival. This is an outdoor program. Children will need to wear outdoor appropriate clothing, running shoes and bring a lunch. Safety riding helmets and riding boots are provided at the stable.

My favorite part of the day was when one of the girls looked up at me with her tie up paddock boots on ( and clicking them down the alleyway) and said " Bethany, I feel just like Laura Ingalls with these boots on".
