The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is an independent non-profit public art gallery committed to the acquisition, presentation, interpretation and dissemination of contemporary art for the benefit of the local arts community. OAG's programs explore a variety of issues and include exhibitions, talks, lectures, tours and publications. The Gallery has a growing permanent collection of historical and contemporary works associated with the region. It also houses the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art, which consists of more than 1,600 works of art assembled by Ottawa collectors O.J. and Isobel Firestone, who acquired the works from the early 1950s to the 1970s.
La Galerie d'art d'Ottawa (GAO) est une galerie d'art publique, indépendante, à but non lucratif vouée à la présentation, l'acquisition, l'interprétation et la diffusion de l'art contemporain et moderne dans l'intérêt de la communauté artistique locale. Ses programmes abordent une variété de sujets sous forme d'expositions, causeries, conférences, visites guidées et publications. La Galerie possède une collection permanente d'œuvres historiques et contemporaines associées à la région. Elle abrite aussi la Collection Firestone d'art canadien, qui se compose de plus de 1 600 œuvres d'art assemblées par les collectionneurs OJ et Isobel Firestone, qui ont acquis les œuvres au cours des années 1950 jusqu'aux années 1970.
