Description
Reiki, reflexology, relaxation massage and chakra balancing for stress relief, optimal body-mind awareness and overall well-being. Healing is a journey. Taking care of ourselves is a practice. When we develop a deeper awareness about ourselves, inside and out, we are better able to respond to our own needs and to provide ourselves with what we need to be healthy. Self-healing is empowerment. It means understanding what we can control in our lives and taking responsibility for the quality, no matter what type of pain we carry.
Reiki and reflexology are ancient healing arts, the origins of which can be traced back thousands of years. These natural, non-invasive healing methods embrace the whole concept of holistic treatment: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual.
Reiki involves laying on of hands in a series of standardized positions to help channel energy into physical and non-physical bodies, releasing energy blockages. A treatment usually lasts about thirty minutes, but time can vary based on the needs of the client. A longer session does not necessarily translate into more benefit.
Reflexology involves the application of pressure on specific reflexes located on the feet. These reflexes correspond to every part, gland and organ in the body. A treatment usually takes about forty-five minutes to an hour for completion.
Both therapies promote relaxation, relieve tension and improve circulation. Thus, the natural function of related areas improves and leads to an increase in general vitality, a sense of well-being and inner peace.
Each healing journey is personal. Where it goes and how far it takes us depends on the direction we choose to go. So create peace within the chaos. Create joy. Create life. I would be privileged to help you help yourself.
I welcome any questions, so if you would like more information about these treatments, or anything at all, please feel free to send me a message and I will do my very best to respond to your inquiry.

As the warm weather ebbs, we are likely to find ourselves feeling a tad like the squirrels, scuttling about in preparation for the coming cold months. Some of us might even already be feeling the dread of shorter days coming. We can help ease any transition by making room each day for ourselves and to use that space for activities that nourish the body and soul. You decide for yourself what that is! Usually wherever your mind goes when it wanders freely is where your heart is, so following that can be helpful 💜 Booking appointments for September! Reiki and reflexology treatments, $65 each (each treatment is approx 1 hour long) Happy Lamp available on request ☀️ Flexible daytime and evening appointments available. House calls can be made if required. Gift cards available as well! Contact me at 204-960-6435, send me a message or email at shyvioletholistics@gmail.com It's SUNNY today, drink it up! 😄
A few thoughts on helping each other during hard times 💜 It is true that we are in charge of our own lives and selves and that we are responsible for creating our own happiness. It is true that although we can't control every situation, we can always control our reactions to it (even if it doesn't feel like we can!). It is true that living each day with as open a heart and mind as possible is essential to our growth; mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally. And it is also true that pretty well each and every one of us will find ourselves at a point (or two, or a hundred) in our lives where everything we've learned about ourselves and all the self-care tools we've earned just aren't enough and we get stuck. It's at these points where the most essential tool we can access is the help of OTHERS. Everyone copes differently with pain, and it is true that some people have no problem reaching out for help. For the rest of us, when we feel stressed or depressed or just plain lost in life, it can feel natural to want to tuck away and hide. Interacting with others can be difficult, because perhaps we are holding such a great load we just don't have the strength for anything else. It is big work carrying pain around, but the last thing we want to do is admit defeat and expose our raw, breaking hearts to another person. For centuries, the collective attitude towards expressing strong emotions publicly has been negative. It is true that this general belief is slowly changing as we learn more about ourselves and our connection to each other and the universe. We are beginning to understand that big feelings are natural and everyone has them, but many of us struggle for having grown up in the type of society that associates crying and anger with shame and failure rather than as the necessary release of emotional energy. I believe that in time we will all have earned the tools to teach our children how to healthfully express emotions as they arise rather than compress them until they become a great rock in their chests. So, if you are reading this from one of those wretched, tight, dark places, remember that you are not alone. Someone is loving you. We are ALL learning, and no one person can do it all. Sometimes, we need help. We are not separate from each other, we are all strands in the same web of life. Please try to reach out, no matter how scary, because someone does care. There are beautiful opportunities to learn from our pain, even though it is very hard in the moment. It can be especially frustrating when you know what you need but you just can't get there on your own. Keep doing the best you can and you will move through this, and afterwards you will have learned just one more thing about yourself. If you are reading this and you are the one sitting next to a loved one in distress, popping Gaviscon and scratching your frazzled brain, remember that you also are not alone. Caring for someone else can make you feel powerless, angry, frustrated with yourself and the other person. Sometimes it's easy to want to blame them for their struggle, for not trying hard enough, for not doing things right. Sometimes you just want so much for them to be well again that you offer a list of things you feel will "fix" them. It is very important to remember that it is not your fault, and it is not your duty to tear out your own insides trying to fix everything. If you are dealing with someone who is struggling, ask them what you can do to help. If they don't know, just letting that person know you are there, and that you love them will bring comfort that heals. If they want to talk, listen with your heart and soul. If they want to talk, it means they trust you, so be careful not misread it as complaining or as an expectation for you to fix them. It may take a day or two or more, but it truly makes a difference more than all the bells and whistles in the world. Remind yourself that you are doing everything you can, and trust that they are as well. In especially tough situations, EVERYONE feels powerless. I read once in an article that it's helpful to visualise someone's emotional pain in the same form as physical pain, such as visualizing bruises or cuts, because "seeing" the pain often gives people a better grasp of what's happening inside the person. So maybe today is hard. Maybe tomorrow will be too. And it's likely all these self-help tools can feel daunting and it's irritating to hear them. But you will find your way. You will learn to apply them to your every day life. Things will get better, because love is what makes life flourish because it is the only thing that can fight misery. The one thing in life we can bank on is its inconsistency (aka roller coaster!). Take a breath. Accept what is. Accept your feelings, look for their source, let them roll out as needed. Ask for help. Soon everything will be okay again. I will finish off with a thought-provoking quote from the poet Rumi. It is definitely a good ponder! May you continue to break down personal barriers and find peace every day 😊 ...I saw grief drinking a cup of sorrow and called out, "It tastes sweet, does it not?" "You've caught me," grief answered, "and you've ruined my business, how can I sell sorrow when you know it's a blessing?" -Jalaluddin Rumi
