Description
The best Filipino is found in eateries, known as “carinderias” in open-air markets in the Philippines. Junior brings the flavours of homestyle Filipino. Established in 2014.
The venture is a collaboration of 4 talented Filipino-Canadians: Award winning international DJ & Co-founder/owner of club Peopl, Jojoflores and his brother DJ Toddy Flores, along with Dr. Julian Somera & David Pendon. The four wanted to bring the authentic flavours of the Philippines to Montreal’s new restaurant row on Notre Dame West, in an easy-going and friendly setting. Artist Gene Pendon, painted the tables & panels which frame the room. The restaurant opened under the name ‘Junior’ as a nod to the ubiquitous boy’s name throughout the Philippines, as everyone ‘back home’ knows a Junior!
