PILLARS The Scalding of Sapientia [Gratitude for taking the time to read in full this explanatory brief.] Of all the Daimons that have equally plagued & blessed Mankind throughout history, this Muse, which can be referred to, in principle, as Wisdom (ie. Gnosis, Sapientia, Pistis Sophia, LuxFerre, et cetera) and yet cannot be properly embodied nor described with mere semantics, is perhaps the most elusive of All… so liquid are Its inherent qualities, and so fierce Its passion! Strange & elusive enough, this Muse represents every “Idea and Ideal” imbued, be they as creative intelligences or self-annealing processes, there to guide the Pilgrim with each step along the Path of Exile & Exalt. As a “living” and moving ethos/archetype/notion; Sapientia itself (regardless of chosen deific or prosaic “name” for it), is truly a discarnate entity, it does not judge or qualify, nor grant the potential these inspirations that pervade both mind and soul of every pilgrim keen to embrace them, in all converse, in all forms of gnosis - here, beneath that fragrant arc, its secrets are revealed, simply, poignantly, profoundly, but this gift comes at a price…. a heavy and oft’ formidable one at that! And that is where you come in, dear contributors, esteemed colleagues & Scribes of Ruha! Take heed! - PILLARS stand-alone edition, “The Scalding of Sapientia” is now officially open to submissions! The theme of this upcoming issue could not be more Luciferian in essence! It is the very foundation of Luciferian praxes and applied tenets… In layman's term; it revolves around “Sacrifice”in the pursuit of Truth, Henosis with the Divine-Within, under Hir towering patronage, to & for the Master, All-knowing & Omni LUCIFER! Now, Lucifer need not be your preferred appellation when invoking the principle we are inferring to here, but nonetheless, “The Scalding of Sapientia” needs to be deeply Luciferian throughout, and what we are seeking for, most particularly, is to put together a condensé (ie. compendium) of personal operations, insights, essays, magickal journal entries & excerpts, detailed compilations and interpretations, notable turning points in one’s occult journey/“career”, and specifically, the waves’ crests and throughs (ups & downs) one can experience when undertaking such a colossal mission, and when subjected to realizations that either make or break one’s own persona and previously held for granted axioms about the Cosmogony of the Possible. Ultimately, what we, at ANATHEMA Publishing, would want to read and learn about, is one’s hardships and dilemmas: the not-so-glorious quotidian strain, the ceaseless adversity, the low-points & high points of learning the Craft, the generally necessary isolation and social detachment, the blunders and miscalculations the would-be magus does upon embarking on such a demanding voyage, the disappointments one is faced with, time and time again, or the illusions/presumptions shattered, as well as the crushed expectations and failed experiments one can undergo before sensing any modicum of clarity, apotheosis & rewards (if any). We are talking about Crown-less achievements, seemingly useless researches surprisingly turning into critical findings, unique sets of tribulation that made one humble before Hir Obsidian Light, and the meagre parcels of Gnosis awarded that meant the world at a singular moment in time, obtained through blood, sweat and ink… & possibly one’s Soul, yearning to eclipse its condition for the benefit of the Grant Oeuvre. Knowing that this shall be a popular inquiry that we shall have to answer more than once, let us get ahead of ourselves and state that: No… there is not a set-date of release for this issue just yet, nor is there a particularly rigid deadline for submissions… however, to make it so that this publication is released in a timely fashion, we would hope to see it mostly done with (material in and all) and ready to go to print by the end of 2016. ** This time around, we aim to make a more text-dense tome, with somehow less illustrations than with previous PILLARS titles, and so, Artists and Illustrators are more than welcomed to submit of course, however the choosing process shall be rigorous, so that each chosen artwork truly be in tune with the given theme and Luciferian angle. *** Authors are strongly encouraged to submit lengthier texts instead of short blurbs or single page oraison (invocation/evocation, etc)… Poetic pieces, litanies, are all welcomed, provided they be accompanied by introductory pieces, offering context, depth and observations. Articles and “Diary” like exposés would be most appreciated indeed!
