Book Signing Event! Join us at Paper and Cup from 12-3pm with local author Don Davies for his eagerly anticipated newest book "Backpacks and Saddlebags"! FREE event, all ages. "Hiking and biking trips consumed many summers and retirement years for Don Davies, an ex school Principal. Cycling to New York, Anchorage, Alaska, and a six month, 16,000km circumnavigation of Australia are amongst his biking adventures. Numerous multi day hikes including the Height of the Rockies, the Purcell Wilderness, Mount Assiniboine and a walk across England with his wife, June, are recalled with interesting detail. Throughout the stories there is a strong emphasis on the need to preserve the environmentand to get this message through to young people to whom we will be handing over this legacy. Inflicted with Mutiple Myeloma, an incurable blood and bone marrow cancer, Davies has had to slow down hiking and biking adventures but his positive attitude and will to overcome the side effects of this disease are an inspiration to others who battle medical issues.
